SoilFix SRB-5

The flagship product within Romix North America’s inventory. A water based polymer emulsion specifically developed as an admixture for the stabilization of sub-base and base layers in heavily trafficked roads. SoilFix allows surfaces to be constructed many times quicker than traditional surfaces, saving up to 60% in the process while building roads that last much longer.

Save Money:

  • Aggregate used for building surfaces represents a huge amount of the total cost. Using SoilFix soil stabilizer requires less layers of aggregate therefore greatly reducing costs.

  • Jobs can be done at least 5 times faster, using SoilFix, representing further savings in fuel and equipment related costs.

  • Smaller work crews are required, saving on labor costs.

  • Less equipment is required to complete a job, saving fuel and equipment costs even further.

  • Romix surfaces last longer and require less maintenance costs than traditional surfaces, greatly reducing ongoing costs.

Convenience:

  • Road surfaces constructed with SoilFix upon compaction are immediately open for traffic, eliminating the need for detouring. You cannot over compact the road as the sub layers only get stronger with more compaction.

Composition:

  • SoilFix contains modified pure acrylic dispersions, water repelling agents, thinned with white spirits and de-foamers. Methyl Methacrylate is the base monomer used in SoilFix SRB-5. These earth-friendly characteristics make SoilFix the environmentally responsible to building infrastructure.

How does it work?

  • When roads, airport runways and other surfaces are constructed, several layers of aggregate are layered with a wearing course of asphalt or cement laid on top. Surfaces constructed in this manner break down when water, frost and pressure from vehicles passing overhead cause movement in the sub-grade which leads to cracking, further moisture damage and potholing.

Applied as a cool liquid, SoilFix penetrates the base layers, migrating for as long as 30 days, before fully curing. Due to its polymeric properties, SoilFix binds the sub-base and base layers. The result is a 12” – 48” solid sub-base piece, instead of individual layers of unbound aggregate. Because of this, our surfaces last much longer and can withstand much heavier loads than traditional surfaces.

We have built roads from the deserts of Kuwait to the freezing mountains of China. SoilFix has been tested down to the temperature of -30 degrees Celsius (-22 f), making SoifFix not only less expensive and more efficient, but also incredibly versatile as well.
