Pavement Solution / Pothole Repair
Romix RoadSafe is a solvent based product designed in collaboration with the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research of South Africa (CSIR). RoadSafe was initially developed for pothole repair, but it was quickly realized that it was much, much more. RoadSafe repels water and can therefore be used in rainy conditions and even freezing weather.
Pothole Repair
Using RoadSafe for the repair of potholes is extremely easy. There is no need to cut out, clean or prime potholes! Simply pour the mixture into the pothole, level it to approximately ½ inch above the surface of the road. Lightly tap it with the back of a shovel and open the road to traffic. It’s that simple. Passing traffic will compact the mixture into the pothole, sealing it for good. On low traffic parking lots and/or driveways, a hand or machine tamper may be used or, just roll a truck tire over the RoadSafe filled pothole and you’re done. RoadSafe does not stick to the bottom of tires and will not peel up. It is quick setting which is great for high-traffic turning lanes.
Friction Course
When used as a friction or wearing course RoadSafe represents a cost savings over hot asphalt and has a much longer life expectancy. As a cold application product, RoadSafe is a pleasure to work with compared to hot asphalt. RoadSafe is also very workable allowing great versatility for many different types of applications. With the ability to lay RoadSafe in freezing or rainy conditions, your work does not have to stop, ensuring on-time completion of projects and happy customers. There’s no downside to using this incredible product.
Asphalt Crack Repair
RoadSafe binder can also be used to repair cracks in roads. Cracks must be repaired in dry conditions though. The method is quick and easy, and the road can be opened to traffic in minutes.
